September marked the 9th year that the Rady Center for Executive Development offered our unique Biotech Demystified program. Biotech Demystified was designed to give non-scientist business professionals in the Biotech and Pharma industries a practical understanding of the basic science powering their businesses. The goal is to give participants the essential tools needed to succeed in today's life science industries and provide executives and decision makers with a practical understanding of the basic science powering the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

Bring part of the UC San Diego campus, we are fortunate to have an array of distinguished faculty who are experts in their fields and been a part of this program for all nine years. Faculty come from UC San Diego’s Division of Biological Sciences, School of Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and The Sanford consortium for Regenerative Medicine.

Rachel H. van Gorp is a Program Managers with the Rady Center for Executive Development. She has over six years of experience developing and managing Executive Education programs. Before joining the Rady team in January of 2011, she worked with the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education Department. In 2008, Rachel earned her master’s degree in international Relations from Boston University. She currently lives in San Diego with her husband, Johannes van Gorp, who is a Professor of Political Science at Occidental College.
