Instructor
Rebecca Johannsen is currently the Artistic Director of Stone Soup Theatre Company, which she co-founded in 2001. She holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from the UC Irvine/UC San Diego joint doctoral program. She has a Master's Degree in Theatre from San Diego State University and a Bachelor's from UC Santa Cruz in anthropology. In addition to her extensive actor training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Ms. Johannsen has worked extensively in marketing and public relations for SDSU Department of Drama, La Jolla Playhouse and CRM Learning.
Ms. Johannsen currently teaches theatre at CSU Northridge and Palomar College. She has produced, acted and directed extensively throughout San Diego for over 25 years. Her work with Stone Soup Theatre Company has been widely praised by critics and fans alike, and the company is about to enter its tenth anniversary season under her leadership.
