From Idea to Marketplace
Lab to Market (L2M) is the capstone of the Rady MBA program. This three-course sequence begins in the classroom and moves into a project-based environment. It is an immersion, going beyond a single course or a simulated exercise to create an experience in spotting and tapping new opportunities and in taking discovery to market.
Which ideas are worth taking to market? Which opportunities should you pursue? Some innovations have the potential to drive companies. Some are worth developing far enough to license. Or to create a joint venture or strategic partnership. Some should be developed internally for product extension or new product launch. And some should be dropped.
As a Rady MBA student, you gain exposure to commercialization opportunities at the world's leading research institutes, including the Salk Institute, Burnham Institute and various UCSD labs. You tap into ideas that companies want to explore—and into the expertise, imagination and creativity of your classmates. Students work in teams, alongside faculty and business experts and coaches.
The Result?
Business plans for intrapreneurial or entrepreneurial ventures. And if your idea has potential, your team can extend it for another quarter.
